As to the Scriptures…
That the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule for faith and practice, doctrine and discipleship; and these Holy Scriptures reveal the eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere-present, unchanging, and only God –-one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
As to Christian doctrine…
Our statement of faith corresponds to the Nicene Creed, the ancient creed generally ascribed to by most Christians before the Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Coptic, and Protestant divisions were so clearly drawn.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.
And we believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins.
And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
As to Christian practice and behavior…
We serve in a variety of cultures and traditions, therefore we rely upon several New Testament guidelines as we continue our discipleship and growth in Christ among other nations.
1 Corinthians 10.23
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
[1 Corinthians 6.12; 8.9; Romans 14.15, 20 ]
1 Cor. 9.19-23
For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
Phil 1.27
Only let your conversation [conduct] be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
